THE USE OF THE COMPETITIVE INTELLIGENCE CYCLE IN THE MANAGEMENT OF THE OPEN BANKING INNOVATION PROCESS: A STUDY IN BRAZILIAN FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS

Resumo


The research aimed to verify how the competitive intelligence cycle can be used in order to generate inputs for the management of open banking innovation.The research identified evidence that the competitive intelligence cycle is integrated into the innovation processes in banks, as a starting point to trigger innovation. To achieve the proposed objective, a qualitative, descriptive, and exploratory approach was chosen.\r\nData analysis was carried out through the use of content analysis and research results, obtained by forming eight categories.The research aimed to verify how the competitive intelligence cycle can be used in order to generate inputs for the management of open banking innovation.A scheme of interrelationships between the identified categories is presented, which suggests that the competitive intelligence cycle develops with the search for information, generating useful results to promote the development and improvement of products and services related to the innovation of open banking.For management, the results indicated that despite the fact that open banking innovation brings new product opportunities for banks, fintechs, and digital retail companies, its adoption is surrounded by uncertainties in the context of financial institutions."
