FRAMEWORK FOR PRODUCT INNOVATION BASED ON KNOWLEDGE EXTRACTED FROM THE WEB

Resumo
The new global dynamics of business forced companies to seek new sources of knowledge to support their innovation processess. Contact with customers is important to identify preferences, interests and trends that will assist in defining new products, which are now having shorter life cycle. Innovation based on consumer opinion can be facilitated if it is possible to extract knowledge from the web using web mining tools. The paper reviews aspects of innovation and web mining to propose a framework for generating product innovation from knowledge extracted from the web. The research is characterized as technological and exploratory. The inductive method was used, relating elements of literature to support the steps of the framework. The work resulted in the proposal of a framework that uses stage-gate system to target the extraction and construction of knowledge from the web.
